tampopo
as if life were a series of smiles …. this movie is about trucker goro who stages a search for the perfect noodle restaurant but cannot find it. then he meets tampopo, a sweet young woman who has her heart in the right place, but not her noodles. they strive for a first class restaurant … love and noodleology …
noodles appear much more interesting in this movie than sex or violence in many others.
my favourite scene is this one about how to correctly eat spaghetti …

i love the scene, when chef chu cooks and delivers gourmet school lunches to shan-shan, the little daughter of a family friend, in exchange for her mother’s terrible ones which he then eats … by ang lee
